Multiple Hearth Furnace is a common treatment equipment in sewage treatment, mainly used for high temperature oxidation degradation of organic wastewater. The following are the main roles and functions of multi-stage furnaces in sewage treatment:

1. High-temperature oxidation degradation of organic matter: the multi-stage furnace adopts the method of high-temperature oxidation, and the organic matter is oxidized by exposing the organic wastewater to high temperature conditions. Under the action of high temperature, organic substances can be degraded into simpler inorganic substances, water and carbon dioxide and other compounds, so as to realize the purification and treatment of wastewater.

2. Removal of harmful substances: the multi-stage furnace also has a good removal effect on harmful substances in wastewater. The high-temperature oxidation reaction can decompose, transform or remove toxic substances, heavy metals, pesticide residues and other harmful components in organic wastewater, reducing their potential harm to the environment and human body.

3. Heat energy recovery: During the operation of the multi-stage furnace, the heat energy generated can be recycled. After the wastewater is treated at high temperature, the released heat can be used to preheat the wastewater entering the furnace, thereby reducing energy consumption. This heat energy recovery can improve the energy efficiency performance of the treatment process.

4. Reduce waste generation: In the process of high-temperature oxidative degradation of organic wastewater in multi-stage furnaces, organic substances will be decomposed into simpler inorganic compounds. This can reduce the amount of organic wastewater generated, and at the same time generate relatively less solid waste, which is convenient for subsequent treatment and disposal.

  • The main functions of activated carbon in sewage treatment:

    1. Adsorption of organic matter: Activated carbon can adsorb organic matter in water, such as organic pollutants, dissolved organic matter, grease and volatile organic compounds. These organic substances can be adsorbed on the surface through the pore structure of activated carbon, so that the water quality can be improved.

    2. Removal of peculiar smell and chroma: Activated carbon has a good effect on removing peculiar smell and chroma in water. It improves the taste and appearance of water by removing chlorine, VOCs, and other compounds that cause odor and color.

    3. Removal of residual drugs and harmful substances: Activated carbon also has a good removal effect on drug residues and harmful substances in water. For example, it can remove substances such as antibiotics, pesticides, industrial chemicals and toxic metals, thereby reducing the potential harm of these substances to the environment and human body.

    Increased water purification efficiency: The use of activated carbon can enhance the effectiveness of other water treatment processes. For example, in a filtration system combined with activated carbon, activated carbon can remove impurities and pollutants in water, thereby reducing the burden on the subsequent treatment process and improving the overall purification efficiency.

    It should be noted that activated carbon will gradually become saturated during use and needs to be replaced or regenerated regularly to ensure its treatment effect. In addition, the selection and use of activated carbon should be properly adjusted and applied according to specific water quality characteristics and treatment needs.
